OSMO Saves You Money
What is the ongoing cost of owning a timber floor? How is it calculated?
When you own a timber floor, maintenance is a given at some point.
Perhaps at the 5-10 year mark a floor finished in Polyurethane requires a full re - coat. A 100m2 floor will typically require $1500-2000 work every 5-10 years. If the floor is finished in a more expensive surface finish such as a waterborne product, it could run closer to $2300.00
With OSMO this cost is drastically reduced. The purchase of an $83 tin of finish, that you can use to apply to wear areas as these arise, will typically see you through 5 years. Additionally the maintenance fluid, Wash and Care, will help to maintain a clean and tidy surface.
Should the floor require a full maintenance coat at some point, there is a product called Maintenance oil in the system which is a fast drying rejuvenating finish which is a very inexpensive floor coating for existing OSMO floors. It is a simply DIY product that does not require sanding.
The benefits are that you maintain a beautiful timber floor surface for a cost that is about 10-20% of the cost of maintaining a polyurethane surface.
